Algo genial en las recientes noticias de la discografía de Joni Mitchell. Se anuncio el lanzamiento de archivo de la legendaria cantautora y se enfoca en una notable época de su carrera.

Joni Mitchell realizó algunos de sus mejores trabajos entre 1972 y 1975, un período fructífero que produjo For the Roses (1972), Court and Spark (1974) y The Hissing of Summer Lawns ( 1975).

Archives, Vol 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975) llega el 6 de octubre a través de Rhino Records en 4LP, 5CD y formato digital, presentado hoy con una demos de “Help Me” de Court and Spark.

Este álbum sigue su reciente lanzamiento en vivo de Joni Mitchell en Newport, así como las otros materiales en su proyecto de archivo en curso, incluidos The Asylum Albums (1972-1975) de 2022.

Si bien el lanzamiento de archivo del año pasado incluyó los tres álbumes antes mencionados, Archives, Vol 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975) se enfoca en material nunca antes escuchado de ese período, que incluye demos, primeras versiones, mezclas alternativas, presentaciones en vivo (con su triunfal álbum de 1972 en el Carnegie Hall) y más.

Los “The Asylum Years ” de Mitchell coincidieron con su decisión de retirarse del ojo público con un retiro anticipado de los escenarios en 1970 y una mayor retirada del escrutinio de los medios que siguió al éxito de Ladies of the Canyon (1970) y Blue (1971).

Encontró un respiro al mudarse a la Sunshine Coast de la Columbia Británica, y la reclusión en sus paisajes resultó muy inspiradora para la artista. Salió a hacer lo casi imposible: seguir su par de álbumes de platino con un trío de discos igualmente convincentes.
